Finya Grubel

Finya Grubel (she/her) is studying medicine at the University of Lübeck. During her studies, she developed a particular interest in gynaecology and women's health. 

She works in the research group of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Krämer in the field of cognitive neuroscience at the Institute of Medical Psychology, where she has contributed to conducting the SHINE study (S-Project S01) which investigates the impact of sex hormones on brain development. 

As part of her doctoral thesis, she focuses on the effects of progesterone on affective behaviour, aiming to contribute to a better understanding of the side effects of hormonal therapies and sex-specific differences in psychiatric disorders that are partly linked to hormonal fluctuations. At the same time, her work contributes to closing existing research gaps in women's health. From April to September 2026, Finya Grubel is supported by the MD scholarship of the CRC 1665.
