Lisa-Marie Nuxoll successfully completed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computational Life Science at the University of Lübeck. During her studies, she gained her first experience in the field of clinical trials by supporting the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics in data management as a student assistant. As part of her Master's thesis at the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics, Lisa-Marie dealt with polygenic scores in a German asthma cohort.

Since April 2022, Lisa-Marie has been working as a biostatistician at the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics, and since April 2024, she has been part in the project S02 in the CRC 1665 “sexdiversity”. In this project, polygenic scores for steroid hormones are being developed for (preterm) infants. Furthermore, the statistical method “Mendelian Randomization” is employed. In project S02, this method is used to investigate the influence of steroid hormones on various complications in (preterm) infants using genetic data.
