Amelie Mayer (she/her) is a medical student at the University of Lübeck and a doctoral candidate at the Institute for History of Medicine and Science Studies (IMGWF). During her studies, she was involved with Amnesty International for Human Rights and worked extensively on the development of psychosomatic diseases in children.
From April 2025 to March 2026, Amelie Mayer is part of the iRTG and affiliated with subproject S05 within the framework of a twelve-month MD scholarship. She is investigating the ethical aspects of caring for inter* children, with a particular focus on the understanding of child welfare. In collaboration with other members of the Collaborative Research Center, the aim is to improve the holistic care of inter* children.
