Metabolic and cardiovascular effects of estrogen supplementation in Cyp17a1(d/d)xApoe(d/d) mice

Anne Dahl is a medical student at the University of Lübeck and is doing her doctorate at the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology in Prof. Raasch's working group.

As part of her doctorate, she is investigating the metabolic and cardiovascular effects of estrogen supplementation in mice with a combined knockout of the CYP17A1 and ApoE genes. The enzyme CYP17A1 plays a key role in the biosynthesis of sex hormones such as estrogen and testosterone. Genetic changes or mutations in the coding gene can lead to a hormone deficiency and are associated with adrenogenital syndrome, among other things.

Anne Dahl has been a member of the Young DZHK since May 2025 and is linked to the iRTG as a guest member.
