Mirjam Faissner is a bioethicist with a background in medicine and philosophy. She is a research associate at the Institute of the History of Medicine and Ethics in Medicine at Charité – University Medicine Berlin. Her research focuses on epistemic and structural injustice in healthcare, taking an intersectional feminist approach. In her research projects, she combines philosophical analysis with qualitative and participatory research, for example in the project INTERSECT on intersectionality and discrimination in psychiatry, which she led at Ruhr University Bochum (2022–2023). She is co-initiator and coordinator of the scientific network “Bioethics and Structural Injustice”, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), and co-initiator of the AEM working group “Feminist perspectives in bio- and medical ethics”.
