Mirjam Faissner ist Bioethikerin mit einem Hintergrund in Medizin und Philosophie. Sie ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Geschichte der Medizin und Ethik in der Medizin der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind epistemische und strukturelle Ungerechtigkeit im Gesundheitswesen, feministische Bioethik und Intersektionalität. In ihren Forschungsprojekten verbindet sie philosophische Analysen mit qualitativer und partizipativer Forschung, beispielsweise im Projekt INTERSECT zu Intersektionalität und Diskriminierung in der Psychiatrie, das sie an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum leitete (2022–2023). Sie ist Mitinitiatorin und Koordinatorin des DFG-geförderten wissenschaftlichen Netzwerks “Bioethik und strukturelle Ungerechtigkeit", sowie Mitbegründerin der AEM-Arbeitsgruppe „Feministische Perspektiven in der Bio- und Medizinethik“.
