Scientific Writing Across Disciplines: AI and Good Scientific Practice
3rd iRTG Summer School 2026
Location: IMGWF and MachBar Lübeck
Date: 28 September to 2 October 2026
Participants: all members of the iRTG
This year's summer school focuses on the scientific writing process. The week will be hands-on and directly useful for doctoral students entering the phase of producing text. At the center of the program is a two-part writing workshop with writing coach Kimberly Crow, including dedicated writing time, individual consultations, and sessions on giving and receiving peer feedback. Deniz Sarikaya will open the week with a theoretical input and workshop on AI and good scientific practice, and will round it off with a closing reflection. Further inputs explore AI tools that assist in producing scientific text, and there will be space for interdisciplinary exchange on sex/gender research. The week closes with the PhD Assembly. Throughout the week, there will also be time to connect within the iRTG, because a shared research culture also grows through informal exchange.
