Lecture: Rethinking Sex, Brain, and Gender: From Binary to Mosaic

Location: Room B1/B2 (Levi-Montalcini), CBBM, 1st Floor, Campus Lübeck

About the Lecture:
The sex binary has long shaped how we study the brain and behavior. Daphna Joel’s research challenges this framework, showing that most brains are unique “mosaics” of features common to both women and men, suggesting that sex alone explains little about brain structure.

About the Speaker:
Daphna Joel is Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology at Tel Aviv University, author of Gender Mosaic (2019), and ERC Advanced Grant recipient.
